About The Davinci Experience

Welcome!

The DaVinci Experience camps and childcare offer your child an authentic opportunity in which they may explore their passions and discover their true potential in a nurturing environment.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is created with the core standards and age guidelines for learning in mind. Uniquely, we redesign the curriculum around the child’s native interests, creating a custom curriculum that builds up natural strengths and still exposes children to new ideas and experiences. We provide opportunities to encourage and direct growth but also leave plenty of room for children to explore and take ownership of their own learning. By giving children more experiences, variety, and choice, we give them the opportunity to reach their potential as learners and find out where they thrive as an individual.

We believe that children learn best when they have both academic and social emotional skills, and great cognitive growth can occur from social interactions as a classroom community. We promote a positive community and nurture a sense of belonging and safety so that children feel comfortable taking risks and trying new things. Teachers in our programs create a calm, orderly environment that promotes autonomy and allows children to focus on learning.

We pride ourselves on fostering a strong sense of community and inclusion. In our programs, everyone is a friend and has an important role in our classroom community. Our warm and friendly teachers guide the children in building social-emotional skills, communicating with peers, communicating their needs, and strengthening problem-solving skills.

What we stand for

What We Stand For

Values: At DaVinci, we care deeply about your child’s education and future. We understand the balance of academics and independent discovery. We value nature and the importance of children spending time outdoors.

Mission statement: Our mission is to cultivate open-minded, free thinkers with a passion for discovery. We strive to provide an intentionally planned curriculum that will help children develop independence and a sense of self. We encourage children to take ownership of their own learning through exposure to well-rounded learning opportunities and exploring their individual interests.  DaVinci promotes an inclusive and nurturing community where every child plays an important role, and everyone is a friend. Children who attend DaVinci will have the opportunity to develop lasting friendships and a love for learning. The DaVinci Experience is a safe place for children to think freely and uniquely, be creative, and investigate their passions. We encourage children to develop a love and respect for nature, as well as participate in caring for the environment. We foster kind and compassionate individuals who value each other’s strengths, diversities, and individuality. Our intention is to nurture responsible global citizens who show respect and compassion for others and feel confident in themselves as they navigate the world around them.

Is The DaVinci Experience Child Care and Summer Camps Right For Your Child?

Mission Statement: Davinci’s philosophy centers around nurturing the ‘whole child.’ While supporting the development of their busy bodies and brains, we also foster children’s caring hearts, unique personalities, various abilities and cultural contexts. Within Davinci’s engaging environment and curriculum, we believe in relationship building with children and families, creating developmentally appropriate expectations, and facilitating prosocial skills.

We value learning through play, peers, nature, materials, and innate curiosity as well as teachers. Expect to find homey spaces with inclusive practices, anti-bias principles, and child-centered approaches.

Outdoor Policy: Though not a full outdoor program, DaVinci is a nature based program. We believe that healthy immune systems, healthy sensory development, and optimal learning happens in an outdoor learning environment. Because of this, DaVinci is committed to having outdoor play 50%-60% of the day in warmer weather months (during warmer weather months all our meals will be eaten outside) and 30%-40% of the day in colder weather months.

Curriculum

Even during rain, snow, or windy days DaVinci will be outside as much as possible (unless the weather becomes dangerous). As such, children may not attend day care or our summer camps without proper attire. It is our belief that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad dress. Please read our respective handbooks for information on what your child needs at our day cares or summer camps.

Promoting Child Independence: We believe in risky play and allow the children in our care to take risks that may first appear, well, risky. Please note, risky play is not a free-for-all. Our number one priority is your child’s care. At the DaVinci Experience Child Care and Summer Camps, we strive to provide a welcoming, safe, and educational space for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

Communication with Parents: To ensure the best possible care for your growing learner, partnering with you is essential. DaVinci Child Care typically messages and or logs information and pictures through the Brightwheel app on a daily basis. It is the primary mode of communication, though emails and calls to the director are encouraged when needed. There are times however, that we may not be able to communicate with you due to staff shortages, sick children, or a change in routines.

* Please note: The DaVinci Summer Camps do not have the same communication policy as the DaVinci Day Care. It is not always convenient for teachers and directors to call a parent directly or immediately if an issue arises as they will be with all the children during camp hours. Please speak to teachers and directors at pick-up, drop-off, and look for emails from the camp towards the evening, if necessary.
